Help, answers, and a way to reach us.

§01Getting started
What is Accounselor?
A sharp second opinion for owner-operators between $10k and $500k/mo. You describe your business, answer 5–7 follow-up questions, and get a ranked plan with a 30-day timeline.
What does a good brief look like?
Concrete numbers, current bottleneck, what you've tried. The brief-writing guide walks through it.
How long does it take?
Five to eight minutes for the chat, under a minute for the plan to render. The PDF and email arrive shortly after.
Do I need an account?
No. The free plan works without one. Only the Operator subscription requires sign-in.
§02Plans & billing
What's free?
The full plan: diagnosis, three ranked recommendations, 30-day timeline, risks, reflective questions, branded PDF, and email delivery. No card.
What does Single Plan ($49 one-time) add?
The full audit for one specific plan: financial back-of-envelope, competitor scan, ICP scoring, 90-day extended plan, branded PDF, and email delivery.
What does Operator ($19/mo) unlock?
An ongoing AI advisor that remembers every prior plan, monthly check-ins, and chat that builds context over time instead of starting cold each session.
How do I pay?
Stripe Checkout. Card or any wallet Stripe supports. We never see card details.
Can I get an invoice or receipt?
Yes — Stripe sends a receipt automatically. Operator subscribers can re-download invoices from the billing portal.
§03Refunds & cancellation
What's the refund policy?
Single Plan ($49): full refund within 7 days, no questions. Operator ($19/mo): 30-day money-back on the first paid month, no questions. Accidental renewals refunded if you write in within 48 hours. Trial cancellations are never charged. Email us with the order/account email.
How do I cancel Operator?
Sign in, open account, click “Manage subscription”. You'll be taken to the Stripe portal; one click cancels at period end. You keep access until the period ends.
How do I delete my account?
Account → Delete account. We immediately wipe your check-ins, threads, and notification preferences; past audits are anonymized so we can keep aggregate stats but they're no longer linked to you. Your subscription is set to cancel at the end of the current billing period and you keep dashboard access until then.
What happens to my data after I delete?
Within 24 hours: chat history, check-ins, threads, notification preferences, and account record are wiped. Past audits are anonymized — kept for aggregate stats but no longer linked to you. Anonymized aggregate counts (e.g., total plans generated) may persist.
§04Plan delivery
I didn't get my email.
Check spam first — sender is Accounselor from the address in your account. If still missing after 10 minutes, write to us with the brief's first sentence so we can find your plan.
Where do I find my saved plans?
If you signed in as an Operator, account lists every plan. If you saved as a guest, the email contains a link valid for 30 days.
My PDF won't open / looks broken.
Try downloading again — the link regenerates the PDF on each request. If it still fails, tell us your browser and the plan's email subject.
Can I edit a plan after it's generated?
No, plans are immutable. Generate a new one with a tighter brief if the focus has shifted.
How long are plans kept?
Guest-saved plans: 30 days. Operator plans: kept while your subscription is active, plus 90 days after cancellation.
§05Account & sign-in
My magic link didn't arrive.
Check spam. The link expires in 15 minutes — if it's late, request a new one. If multiple attempts fail, write to us from the affected email.
The link says it's expired or already used.
Magic links are single-use. Request a fresh one from the sign-in page.
Can I change my email?
Yes — sign in, open Account → Identity → Change email. We'll email a confirmation link to both your current address and the new one; the change goes live once both are confirmed. Links expire in 30 minutes.
Can I sign in on multiple devices?
Yes. Each device that follows a magic link gets its own session. Sign out from account to revoke a device.
§06Data & privacy
What do you store?
Your brief, follow-up answers, and generated plan if you save or share it. Operators: also chat history and memory the AI uses across sessions.
How long is it kept?
Guest plans: 30 days. Operator data: while subscribed plus 90 days. See privacy policy for the full retention table.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. We don't run behavioral analytics or share with advertisers. Sub-processors (Stripe, Resend, Supabase, DeepSeek, Anthropic) are listed in the privacy policy.
Can I export my data?
Operator subscribers can download every plan as PDF from the account page. For raw chat/memory export, write to us.
Where are servers located?
US. Supabase (Postgres) and Resend (transactional email). Your brief is sent to DeepSeek for plan generation (with Anthropic as a fallback for the final report) under no-training agreements.
§07Operator-specific
How does memory work?
Operator chats remember every prior plan, what you said worked, and what you said didn't. New questions are answered in the context of your full history — everything you've done while subscribed, not just a recent window.
What are check-ins?
Once a month, Accounselor emails you a short set of questions about how the last plan landed — what worked, what stalled, what changed. You can reply directly to the email (no login needed) or answer through your dashboard. Either way, your answers are added to memory so future plans get sharper. Frequency adjustable in account.
Do I need to log in to answer a check-in?
No. Just reply to the check-in email directly — no link to click, no login required. Your reply is matched to your account by email address and added to your memory automatically.
How is Operator chat different from a one-shot plan?
A one-shot plan is a single ranked output. Operator chat is open-ended back-and-forth — you can argue with it, ask it to redo sections, and have it cross-reference older plans.
Can I bring my own data (numbers, docs)?
Paste anything into chat. File upload isn't supported yet.
Does Operator replace the free plan?
No — you can still generate one-shot plans. Operator adds memory and chat on top.
